Car Seat Safety on the Homefront
We can help you with your car seat
Car Seat Safety on the Homefront is a program of Child Safety on the Homefront, a program of Pro Car Seat Safety that provides services to military families who are expecting a baby, and for other military parents. While you can call for questions anytime, for example, to inquire about types of car seats, processes, etc., if you are expecting a baby, we recommend contacting us to schedule an appointment no later than your 8th month of pregnancy. This will ensure we can have you prepared and your car seat ready by the time you deliver your baby. We teach you how to install, test, and restrain your newborn baby correctly. We provide one-on-one in-person mobile services at your home, whether living on or off the military base. In addition, we also provide similar virtual telehealth services. While 96% of Parents think that their car seat is installed correctly, and feel their baby is restrained properly (Hoffman (2016), 95% of newborn babies are riding incorrectly in their car seats immediately after being discharged from the hospital (NHTSA, 2020). When a child is restrained properly in a properly installed car seat, your child is 71% safer (NHTSA, 2022). Call 24/7 to talk with a live certified National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST), who is also a Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES).
To schedule a car seat installation/education appointment call 323-491-6197.
