Our goal at Pro Consumer Safety has been to be a resource for media on injury and violence prevention to help support news stories increase awareness of the risk of injury provide preventive resources to families and communities and promote healthy lifestyles. We provide up-to-date injury epidemiology, seasonal risks, safety alerts, interactive community safety events, demonstrations, and preventive resources. We incorporate a public health approach and collaborate with local and state agencies, including fire, police, hospitals, schools, parks and recreation, public health as well as community safety organizations.
As injury epidemiologists, Master of Certified Health Education Specialists, and Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians, we are qualified to speak on a variety of both intentional and unintentional injury mechanisms, including but not limited to child passenger safety; safety among children in and around cars including heat and hyperthermia; drowning/pool safety; childhood poisoning, suffocation, falls, burns, head injury; bicycle safety, to intentional ranging from intimate partner violence, child abuse neglect, elder abuse, etc. We have provided injury prevention-related news interviews, media advisories, press conferences, technical advisory and community morning shows for television, radio and newspaper since 2002. We are available to provide injury related data, risks, demonstration, prevention and resources. We have experience with injury related media advisory but also news interviews ranging from product safety related to evidence-based data, resources, services, and prevention on injury and violence. We have conducted press conferences, media advisories and news interviews from networks including ABC7, NBC, CBS, Channel 2/9, Fox News, Telemundo, Azteca, Univision, KXLA TV 44, Annenberg TV, KXCI TV 18, etc.
