Interdisciplinary Task Force on the Safety of Transporting Children in Spica Casts
Ensuring Safe Journeys for Children in Spica Casts
|
Children in spica casts due to hip dysplasia, fractures, or other orthopedic conditions require careful handling and transportation to ensure their safety. Despite advances in medical treatment, there remains a critical gap in standardized policies and practices for the safe transportation of these vulnerable children. Parents, caregivers, and healthcare providers need clear guidance and access to appropriate, secure special needs car seats to prevent injuries and promote optimal recovery.
The Interdisciplinary Task Force on the Safety of Transporting Children in Spica Casts brings together healthcare professionals from hospitals, public health, orthopedics, surgery, and pediatrics to address this vital safety concern. Our goal is to develop evidence-based policies, promote best practices, and improve outcomes for children in temporary spica casts across healthcare and community environments. |
Vision
To create a world where every child in a spica cast is transported safely, with access to appropriate equipment and care, minimizing risks and promoting recovery and well-being across all healthcare and community settings.
